Using illustrations drawn from everyday examples, Charles Spurgeon provides uplifting devotions for each day of the year in Evening by Evening. A marvelous orator and compelling writer, Spurgeon weaves the truth of God's Work with his own effective illustrations into inspiring devotions for each day of the year. A Scripture reference and thought-provoking commentary are provided in each devotion to help the reader end each day in God's presence. Throughout this year-long journey, these classic devotions urge readers to reflect on their lives, find comfort in Scripture, and deepen their relationship with God. In one of the daily readings, Spurgeon encourages intercessory prayer because prayer for others is the "sweetest God ever hears." Spurgeon gently persuades the reader to see the goodness and compassion of God, to seek Christ in every area of life, and rest in the promises of a faithful God. Written over a century ago, generations have already cherished this classic collection of daily wisdom, which will endure for generations to come. At the end of a busy day, meditate on the scripture and allow Spurgeon's inspiring messages to draw you closer to God.
